The network boasts of more than 89,000 women professionals today. 

Through the Accenture Vaahini app, working women were enabled to exchange ideas and discussions, explore career opportunities, and connect with Accenture leadership to empower herself and others as well.

Accenture wanted to ensure and promote GD not only inside the organization but also amidst the working population outside it.

Goal

Accenture has left no stone unturned to ensure that gender diversity is maintained not only in the organization, but also in the working population as a whole. Vaahini is Accenture in India’s networking platform for women professionals that has brought together Accenture women as well as women outside Accenture, across the career spectrum. Through an array of focused reforms like returning mothers program, high-tech women program, and women alumni network, Accenture’s objective is to retain existing women in the team and get more number of them on board.

The Accenture Vaahini app provides a networking forum for professional women. This app offers an opportunity for any career woman to learn, share, and empower herself and others. It has inspiring stories and an exchange of ideas and discussions, as well as the ability to explore career opportunities, connect with Accenture leadership, and etc.

Takeaway

 

Corporate mentorship programs and inspiring stories about role models in an organization are the real game changers when it comes to gender equality. Young women gain confidence by noting the presence of other women in the organization who have grown, assumed greater responsibility, and now are leading others. Furthermore, any benevolent guidance from the higher hierarchy also helps them perceive their roadblocks from a more strategic approach and react to those in a more actionable manner.

 

This is an outstanding model of inclusion and equality, where everyone in the process cycle becomes a change agent and contributes towards the upliftment of women in workplaces. Companies can leverage this model to inspire the existing employees become advocates for gender diversity and make them reachable to new joinees to promote a positive and helpful work culture, which is without any gender bias, both conscious and unconscious.
